What are your academic goals for the new semester? How will you achieve them? What have you learned about yourself as a student after your first semester of high school? Your answer must be at least 2 full paragraphs in order to receive credit.
Enjoy your days off.
There are many academic goals I plan to achieve for the new semester. One goal in mind is to maintain a 4.0 GPA. In order to earn good grades, I must complete and turn assignments in on time, put effort into projects, and make sure that I am prepared by knowing material that will be on future tests. Another academic goal I want to accomplish is to be able to take better notes during lectures or PowerPoint presentations. I have a tendency to copy down everything on the notes given instead of only writing down the most important information; in the future, I will only copy the notes necessary and also listen to what the teacher has to add on during his/her lecture.
ReplyDeleteAfter the first semester of high school, I have learned a few things about myself as a student. One, for instance, is that I have a bad habit of procrastinating and putting work off until the last minute. In the end, I usually stay up late, simply trying to finish the assignment or doing everything to improve it. Another thing I learned is that I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to most assignments, such as essays and projects. Keeping in mind that I want to score an A on the assignment, I put a lot of effort into writing/making it.

The academic goals i have for the new semester is at least try and get all A's in every class but if i don't at least a couple of B's.I also want to take better notes in class so i can do better on future tests and quizzes. One important academic goal that wish to achieve for myself is not leaving all the work last minute because i have the tendency of leaving work for last and having a pile of work to do do the next day.
ReplyDeletewhat i will do to accomplish these academic goals is study all my notes before we have a test in class and pay very good attention in class and copy the neccesary off the board. I will also do the homework the day it is assigned and not leave it before class starts.
what ive learned about myself is that im am a very hard working but sometimes lazy student and always gets all his work done.i also learned that that its getting pretty hard and high school isnt fun and games and needs to be taken seriously because it determines our future. But so far its kind of easy but i know as i progress through school its going to get harder and i just have to do good in scvhool to suceed

It's a new semester and a great opportunity to start off fresh! I definitely want to improve on my note taking and test taking skills this semester. I feel that if I master those particular skills, school will be much easier for me. Besides my individual skill development, group work is an area I also want to get better at. The only way to progress in these areas is to practice and to try to apply it to everyday life so it becomes almost natural.
ReplyDeleteIt's been interesting learning more about myself throughout this first semester of high school. Balancing school and sports took a hit on me because you just can't find time in the day to do things for yourself as well as meet up to everyone's expectations. But if you have the right support behind you, all you want to do is make people proud. I've learned that I'm a hard worker and that I won't quit at something if I can't seem to get it. Sometimes I hate having those traits because stress comes along with it. But when you think about it at the end of the day, you know it'll pay off in the long run.
